Earlier this year they announced the change of the “secret committees” following push back from The Weeknd, and last shows record low viewing numbers. They have announced other changes, like the nomination of Album of the Year now includes all credits on the songs.

BTS’s “Butter” breaks both Spotify and YouTube 24-hour streaming record

This weeks release from BTS has broken 2 records, the first being Justin Beiber’s “I Don’t Care” with over 20.9M streams. They also broke the YouTube 24-hour streaming record with over 113M views; that record was previously held by the group’s “Dynamite”.

Spotify Adds Transcriptions for Podcasts 

Spotify is transcribing a limited number of its podcasts, this aids those hard-of-hearing and can make it easy to skip to a certain section. Spotify’s aim for the future is to have all their podcasts transcribed

Why People are buying things off TikTok  

TikTok's hypersensitive algorithm is leading over 49% of people to buy things they saw on the app. With videos being only 30 seconds long, and creators often linking to products in their bio or comment section this can make buying even easier.

TikTok has a new text to speech voice. 

After being sued by the original voice on the app, there is a new text to speech voice. Voices vary by region, this new voice is for North America. The voice of the text to speech Beverly Standing was told her voice would be used in translation, and never had a deal with TikTok.

TikTok and Sirius XM are creating exclusive audio experiences

Playlists across SiriusXM and Pandora will tap into TikTok’s trends and trending tracks. Across all channels there will be exclusive performances, interviews and special events. TikTok radio will be hosted by TikTok creators and musicians.

Ticketed Spaces Are Coming to Twitter, Providing Another Way for Creators to Monetize

Twitter has previewed its coming ticketing option for Spaces, which will provide another means for creator monetization. In order to be able to charge for spaces, the user must have over 1k followers and host 3 spaces in the past month. Creators will be able to take 80% of the funds, while Twitter keeps 20%.

Instagram Adds New Engagement Insights for Reels and Instagram Live Broadcasts

Instagram is adding a new range of data insights for both Instagram Reels and Instagram Live broadcasts. Creators can now see total reach, comments, shares and total plays across Reels and Live broadcasts. This data is available in-app for now, Instagram is working on making it available on desktop.
