Live Nation Is Phasing Out Plastic Water Bottles

After becoming an investor in canned water company Liquid Death, Live Nation is switching over to canned water at 120 US venues and festivals. They are also using this as a chance to test different flavours of the water. Some customer reviews say the water has an altered taste due to the metal can and others say it can be a little weird to drink a flat beverage out of a can.

Music NFT Report: Around 150 Artists Earned $55.7 Million in Two Months
Many of the artists that are profiting from NFT’s are already successful, such as Steve Aoki, The Weeknd and Grimes. Over 80.7% or $48.9 Mil was earned by electronic artists. Most NTF works are centred around visuals rather than audio. Buyers of the work are usually people who are already familiar with the space and are comfortable with investing in pieces.

Coldplay to Perform A Live Stream Exclusively for TikTok.
Coldplay will be performing 4 songs live on their TikTok channel, they will be promoting the US Red Nose day on May 24th. This will be Coldplay’s first live performance on the app. Their new song “Higher Power” has been used 123k times on TikTok

Morgan Wallen Fans Buy Billboard in LA to Protest Billboard Music Awards
Wallen is nominated for 6 awards but will not be allowed on the show, to perform or accept any awards. Dick Clark productions are glad to know that he is taking steps in anti-racism and doing meaningful work; they plan to re-evaluate him for future shows.

Higher quality audio streaming is no longer a premium product. Both Apple and Amazon have announced that their users will now be able to enjoy some super enhanced audio action via their respective music platforms at no extra cost.

Tech Update

Twitter is Working on Paid Tweets Under a Subscription Model

The model is called Twitter Blue and could cost users $2.99 per month. It could include new features like an undo button, auto-reply, more insights, custom hashtags, advanced video publishing. They are working to decide if it should be a tiered subscription if there is demand. Twitter recently acquired Scroll, a subscription ad-blocking service. They are going to be using that technology to allow Twitter users to pay for access to new features. There is not a clear launch date yet.

Instagram Tests New Upload Options in the Desktop Version of the App

Instagram is updating its desktop site so users can now post from their PC hard drive. It will still have the same options for editing as the app does. Stories and reels are still only available to upload through mobile.

YouTube Previews Upcoming Improvements for YouTube Studio, Including Auto-Generated Title Suggestions

These updates will include improvements to mobile uploads, and creators will now be able to pull videos from Google Drive. Users will be able to clone their settings from previous videos. Some other tools YouTube is working on is AI-based with auto titles and descriptions

TikTok is working to keep its employees and users safe. With more than a third of app users being under 14, the people at TikTok are working to create a safe environment for everyone. This new partnership should improve the current app and help with further development.

Facebook Publishes Latest Updates on Content Removals, Fake Account and Hate Speech

The statistics show that Facebook is getting better at detecting hate speech, bullying and harassment. Facebook also notes that fake accounts make up for 5% of active monthly total users. While Facebook has been tackling fake accounts for years, this 5% never seems to decrease.
